Privacy notice
If we contacted you about a role, this page explains how we found you, what we keep, why, for how long, and how to make us stop.
Techy Recruiter finds people for roles at technology companies. We look at information people have published about their own work, and if it matches a role we are hiring for, we contact them once with a short sequence of messages. You can tell us to stop at any time by replying "stop" or emailing tarek@techyrecruiter.com, and we will not contact you again.
Who we are
Techy Recruiter, Izar Plaza, 1st Floor, Palm Hills, 6th of October, Giza, Egypt. We decide how your information is used, so we are responsible for it. For anything on this page, write to tarek@techyrecruiter.com.
Where your information comes from
We only use information that is already public or that you give us yourself:
- professional profiles such as LinkedIn and GitHub;
- company team pages, conference speaker pages, published research, articles and public lists;
- older public copies of web pages kept by the Internet Archive;
- people-search and company data services that collect the same kind of public professional information;
- what you tell us in your replies, your CV and our calls.
What we keep
Your name, current and past job titles and employers, location (city or country), skills, links to your public profiles and work, a work or professional email address if one is published, the messages we send you and your replies, and, if you choose to send them, your CV and notes from calls with us.
We do not look for or keep your age, date of birth, sex, photo, marital status, religion, nationality or health, and they play no part in deciding who we contact.
Why we use it, and on what basis
We use it to decide whether a role might suit you, to tell you about it, and, if you are interested, to introduce you to the hiring company. Our legal basis is legitimate interests: ours in filling roles, the hiring company's in finding people, and yours in hearing about roles that match your work. We keep the contact short and relevant, and you can opt out at any time.
We use software, including AI, to help find people, read public profiles and draft messages. A person at Techy Recruiter sets the rules it follows. Nobody is hired or rejected by software alone: the hiring decision is always made by people at the hiring company.
Who we share it with
- The hiring company, only if you tell us you are interested and agree to be introduced.
- Service providers that run our tools for us and may only use your information to do that: our applicant tracking system (Ashby), messaging and email (Unipile, Google), AI writing and reading (Anthropic), search and profile data (Exa, Crustdata), email address checking (ZeroBounce), call notes (Fireflies), our team workspace (Slack), AI quality monitoring (Papaya) and server hosting (Hetzner).
We never sell your information.
International transfers
We are based in Egypt and some of our providers are in the United States. Where your information leaves the European Economic Area or the UK, we rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard. You can ask us for a copy.
How long we keep it
If we look at your public information but decide not to contact you, we delete what we found within 30 days. If you are not interested or do not reply, we keep your information for up to 24 months after our last message, then delete it. If you become a candidate, we keep it while the hiring process runs and for up to 24 months afterwards, so we can consider you for other roles, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. If you opt out, we keep only your name and profile link on a do-not-contact list, so that we never contact you again.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or give it to you in a portable form. You can object to our use of it at any time, and we will stop. Write to tarek@techyrecruiter.com and we will answer within one month. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live or work.
Changes
We will update this page if how we work changes. Last updated 1 November 2026.
