What we charge
One base retainer. Milestones for everything else. All of it here, not behind a call.
Techy Recruiter works on a $5,000 a month base retainer. That puts a recruiter from our team inside yours, running up to three live roles end to end. Process and automation work, the part that makes you need us less, is scoped as milestones: each one has its own number and its own expected result, agreed before it starts. No fixed minimum, and other payment arrangements are available depending on the case. No percentage of anyone's salary.
The base retainer
| What you get | Price |
|---|---|
| A recruiter inside your team. Up to three live roles, swappable as they close and open. Sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer and close, hiring-manager coaching, weekly reporting, and the process audit with its milestone plan. | $5,000 a month |
| Engagement length. No fixed minimum; most run three to six months. | Agreed in the scope |
| More than three roles running at once. | Additional seats, scoped in writing |
The retainer does not move because you hired someone senior, and it does not move mid-engagement unless the scope does. Full detail on the embedded recruitment page.
The milestones
| Typical milestones | Price |
|---|---|
| ATS setup or rebuild. Pipelines, stages, templates, reporting, in your own account. | Per milestone, agreed before it starts |
| Scorecards and interview loops. What good looks like for each role, and a loop every interviewer runs the same way. | Per milestone, agreed before it starts |
| Automation. Enrichment, connections between tools, outreach tracked through your ATS, scheduling, reporting. Whatever the audit says is slow. | Per milestone, agreed before it starts |
| Maintenance after handover. Only if you want us running the workflows rather than your team. | Monthly, quoted once the workflows exist |
We do not quote milestones before the audit, because a number given blind is a number someone regrets. What we do promise: every milestone has a number and an expected result before it starts, nothing gets built that was not agreed, and you keep all of it. How the build works is on the recruitment automation page.
Other payment arrangements
The retainer plus milestones is how most clients work with us, and it is the structure we recommend. It is not the only one. Depending on the case and what you ask for, we also work milestone-only, project-based, or on a different schedule that fits how your company pays. The free diagnosis is where that gets agreed.
Standalone projects
Sourcing as a service and hiring process design are still available on their own, priced per search or per project and quoted in writing after the diagnosis. Most teams that need either get more from the retainer, where both are included.
What is included, and what is not?
In the retainer: sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer and close support, hiring-manager coaching, weekly pipeline reporting, and the process audit with its milestone plan.
Priced as milestones: ATS setup or rebuild, scorecards and interview design, automation builds, and maintenance after handover.
Not included: job board spend, assessment platform licences, background checks, candidate travel, and any tooling bought in your name. Passed through at cost with no markup, or bought by you directly, whichever you prefer.
How does it compare to an agency?
A typical agency charges around 20% of first-year salary per hire. On three $80,000 hires that is $48,000, and you own nothing when the invoices are paid. Four months on the retainer is $20,000, plus whichever milestones you chose to build, and you keep the process, the pipeline and the workflows. The retainer wins from about the second hire. For one hire and then nothing, an agency is the cheaper tool, and the diagnosis will say so.
What if a role does not fill? You have still paid for the month. What you own is the pipeline, the scorecards and the process, and they carry into the next role. If that trade is wrong for your stage, the free diagnosis exists to tell you before you spend anything.
Why do we publish this?
Most agencies will not tell you what they charge until they have you on a call. We would rather you know before you book one.
If the number does not work for your stage, that is a useful thing to find out in thirty seconds instead of thirty minutes. And if it does work, the call can be about your roles instead of your budget.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Techy Recruiter charge?
A $5,000 a month base retainer for a recruiter inside your team and up to three live roles. Process and automation work is priced as milestones, each with its own number and expected result, agreed before it starts. No fixed minimum, and other payment arrangements are available depending on the case. No percentage of anyone's salary.
Is there a minimum engagement, and are other payment arrangements possible?
No fixed minimum. Most engagements run three to six months and the length is agreed in the scope. Milestones are fixed pieces of work with their own number. Other payment arrangements, from milestone-only to project-based, are available depending on the case and what you ask for.
Do you negotiate?
On scope, yes: which roles, which milestones, in what order. On the base retainer, no. If $5,000 a month does not fit your stage, the free diagnosis will say so and point you to a cheaper tool.
Do you work on a success fee?
Not as standard. The retainer pays for a process. A success fee pays for a placement, and we would rather build the first. For a single urgent role we will occasionally take one. Ask on the diagnosis.
What is not included in the retainer?
Job board spend, assessment platform licences, background checks, candidate travel, and any tooling bought in your name. Passed through at cost with no markup, or bought by you directly, whichever you prefer.
